“It is the province of knowledge to speak and it is the privilege of wisdom to listen.”
“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, “I’m possible!”
“If I’m talking to someone in a crowded room, I try to make this person feel as though we’re the only ones present. I shut out everything else. I look directly at the person. Even if a gorilla were to walk into the room, I probably wouldn’t notice it.”
““Listening is a hug you give with your mind.”
“The crown of life is neither happiness nor annihilation; it is understanding.”
Having someone to listen, to see you with their heart open, without judgement or assumption is a great gift. It is not something many women know how to do. We are primed to ‘fix’ to stem the tide of tears.. what if that is the opposite of what you need? I have learnt these skills in being held by women in this way and by holding others too.
If this speaks to you and your heart right now..
What constitutes a good listener? a good wisdom sharer? Take a look at my chart below and how the channels I have support me in my work..
The below is a high level overview of these gates, which give you a glimpse into my design. There is of course much much more that can be explored..
Channel 1-08
‘The ‘1-8 Channel’, also known as the Channel of Inspiration, is a powerful connection between the G Centre, which represents our sense of identity and direction, and the Throat Centre, which governs communication and manifestation. This Channel is all about expressing one's personal truth. People with this Channel defined often feel a strong drive to share their unique insights and perspectives with the world.’
At one end, Gate 1, located in the G Centre, is focused on self-expression and creatively bringing one's identity to life. On the opposite end, Gate 8 in the Throat Centre is about contributing to the collective by sharing these personal insights. Together, these Gates form the 1-8 Channel, emphasising the flow of creative energy from within (self-expression) to outward communication (contribution).
Those with the 1-8 Channel defined are often naturally creative and feel the need to share their ideas and visions. They have a talent for expressing complex thoughts in ways that others can easily understand, which makes them effective communicators. Their strong sense of self and creativity can also inspire others to explore their own unique forms of expression.
In relationships, people with this Channel typically thrive when they can connect deeply with others and share their creative contributions. They seek environments where their perspectives are valued and where they can feel appreciated for their ability to bring something meaningful to the world.
Channel 32-54
The 32-54 Channel connects the Spleen Center (which governs intuition, health, and survival instincts) with the Root Center (responsible for stress and adrenaline). When this Channel is active in someone's Human Design, it signifies a powerful energy that drives transformation and change in their life.
People with the 32-54 Channel often have a deep understanding of the process of transformation. They can easily recognize growth potential in themselves and others, which makes them natural leaders, entrepreneurs, and guides. They excel at helping others unlock their full potential and navigate periods of change.
In relationships, the 32-54 Channel plays a strong role in promoting growth and development. People with this Channel are often drawn to partners they see potential in and have a natural tendency to help them evolve and improve. They are supportive, motivating partners who inspire others to achieve their goals and realize their potential.
At work, individuals with this Channel typically have a strong drive for success. Their ability to recognize opportunities for growth and change makes them excellent at spotting areas for improvement. Their intuition and ambition make them powerful leaders or entrepreneurs, particularly in environments where they can inspire transformation and lead others through change.
For personal development, the 32-54 Channel leads individuals on an intense journey of growth. They are naturally drawn to practices that promote self-improvement, like meditation, yoga, or therapy. While their pursuit of growth is fulfilling, it can also be demanding. It's important for them to manage this energy in a way that remains sustainable.
In decision-making, those with the 32-54 Channel often rely on their instincts to know when transformation is needed. They make decisions based on the potential they see—whether it's in people, ideas, or situations—and excel at pushing things forward, driving change, and initiating new paths.
To balance the high energy of this Channel, practices like mindfulness and self-acceptance can be beneficial. Learning to be present in the moment, rather than constantly striving for change, helps create a sense of peace and stability. Regular periods of rest and relaxation are also important to recharge, preventing burnout and ensuring that their drive for transformation remains sustainable.
Channel 42-53
The 42-53 Channel, also known as the Channel of Maturation, connects the Sacral Center (which governs energy and vitality) to the Root Center (responsible for stress and adrenaline). This Channel embodies the natural flow of beginnings and endings, guiding individuals through cyclical processes of growth, maturation, and completion. If this Channel is defined in your Human Design, you are naturally equipped to manage processes from initiation all the way through to completion.
In essence, the 42-53 Channel represents a powerful force for overseeing the full cycle of a project or process—from its inception to its final stages. Understanding how this Channel influences you can provide valuable insight into your natural tendencies regarding initiation, perseverance, and completion. It offers an opportunity for growth, self-awareness, and a deeper alignment with your unique design.
To live in alignment with the energy of the 42-53 Channel, it’s essential to embrace its cyclical nature. This means recognizing the importance of both starting and finishing processes. Each phase of the cycle, whether it’s the excitement of initiating something new or the patience required to bring it to completion, holds its own value.
A key part of alignment is understanding your own internal rhythms. You may find that at certain times you feel more energized and ready to take on new projects, while at other times you may feel a natural pull toward finishing what you’ve started. This rhythm is a crucial aspect of the 42-53 Channel, helping guide when to initiate and when to focus on completion.
Additionally, living in alignment with this Channel means trusting the process of maturation. It’s about knowing that growth takes time and that rushing or forcing the process can be counterproductive. True alignment involves being patient with the unfolding of events, allowing things to develop at their own pace, and recognizing that each stage is essential to the overall cycle.
